"Oh please don't go ... we love you so!"

When the Original 3 (Alexander, Zachary, and Nikita) were little children Jamie would read to them every night.  Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak, was a favorite and they even had named everyone within the book, using family and friends' names.  I was always too afraid to ask which wild thing was me.

And now we have sailed through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year...

But in reality it has been so much more than a year, and now they want to go.
Alexander began his journey 18 months ago when he entered the Army and trained for the Army Reserves; now he is off in college and fulfilling his one weekend a month duties.

Zachary is a Sailor in the Navy, off at training for his job there.

Nikita is waiting for her senior year to end so she can  go off to the Navy this Summer.

And I am left here, wondering where Max's private boat is so I can sail back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day and eat them up as little toddlers just one more time.

I know they must go, but I love them so.

God is good, through night and day...
