Today for the one millionth time someone said to me, "I don't know how you do it all". I never really know what is meant by that phrase. What exactly do they think I accomplish in a day?
The kids dress themselves in the morning. They get their chores (mostly) done and beds (mostly) made.
So I have decided my definition of it all is really quite simple.
There are 2 things I must get done every day:
1. Pray
2. Feed the kids (preferably 3 times)
Everything else is a bonus. A "yay me" moment.
Dante made it to school-- yay me!
I got a load of laundry done-- yay me!
Most of the bills were paid this month-- yay me!
and so on...
That is how I get it all done.
God is in control; I feed the kids.

- We are a family blessed with nine children. Four of our blessings were born to us, and five joined us through adoption. They have Down Syndrome and are such a blessing to us and everyone who knows them! Jamie and I have been married 20 years. He is a high school teacher, and I stay home to school the children. I love love love this post! My husband and i are praying about adopting a down syndrome child from Hong Kong and you truly inspire me. It's been a blessing following your blog. Which agency did you go through? I think i saw you on the bethany forum.
Hi Betsy, and thank you! We went through Bethany for our 3 Hong Kong adoptions. The Bethany coordinator for HK is wonderful. Our kids were all through Mother's Choice and were so loved by the staff there. They really care about the kids and prepare them for their forever families.
I love this! When people ask me that question, I reply, "I don't get it all done..." Meaning, I don't do what they think I do, or what they do, or what they think I should do...just what I think is important. I think you are way cool, and I'm glad I found your blog.
